Ancient relics uncovered in heart of former capital

Relics of the Fugan Temple, a historical site mentioned in ancient documents, were discovered in downtown Chengdu in June, unveiling the true color of the old Buddhist temple that was established during the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420).

Palace Museum confirms ancient relics find

The Palace Museum in Beijing has confirmed the discovery of relics from the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) that were buried underground in the heart of the city for more than 600 years. The museum, also known as the Forbidden City, said on Thursday that the relics had been found during maintenance work at the historic site.

Chengdu’s golden treasures are tops with tourists

Travel website TripAdvisor recently announced its list of the world’s most popular museums, based on the comments of millions of travelers worldwide in 2014. The Jinsha Site Museum in Chengdu, the capital of Southwest China’s Sichuan province, was rated as one of the top 10 museums in China, along with the Qin Terracotta Army Museum in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, the Shanghai Museum, The Shaanxi History Museum and the National Museum of China in Beijing.
