Yuan dips as capital controls relaxed

The renminbi weakened on Tuesday for the first time in two weeks after the central bank relaxed capital controls on Monday. Analysts said the currency will have more two-way fluctuations in coming months.

RMB use to grow in Belt, Road economies

Yuan elevated to elite club of currencies

The inclusion of the renminbi among the elite reserve currencies of the International Monetary Fund over the weekend will push ahead reforms linked to the currency’s internalization and marketization, according to economists. They also discounted speculation it would prompt a sharp depreciation of the currency.

Li stresses stability of renminbi
